Campaign-ing Subversive Sexiness

One look at the FW22 campaigns and one would notice the reinstated focus on Denims and Elevated Basics, just when subversivesexy as a trend was entrenching the mood on social media and runways alike. With a renewed perspective on making denims a staple piece for going-out looks, the campaigns serve a platter of clean, sexy and classic ensembles with a side of tongue-in-cheek artistic direction (Re: Bella Hadid in her Balenciaga look).

The return of party dressing need not necessarily only look into dresses, but denims bring about an interesting turn to the storytelling, which is marketed in a fun and experimental manner to appeal to younger consumers. Denim jeans have always been sexy (remember Kate Moss in the ubiquitous Calvin Klein ad), however, FW’22 unapologetically invites Denim Shirts and Skirts to amp up the party.

The Skinny Jean might be dead, but, wide legged jeans are here to stay for all of us who are not yet done with comfortwear. Fighting neck to neck with loungewear, it would be interesting to see how the denim trend shapes up..
